The Vancouver Park Board considers this beach a happening place geared for the younger set (teens to thirties) with a lovely outlook spanning from open bay, to North Shore mountains to Stanley Park. There are lots of activities here with something for everyone. This area was originally known as Greer's Beach.

Kitsilano beach has within it the Kitsilano Pool, Vancouver's largest draw & fill salt water pool. It was opened at the water's edge in 1936 and became an instant success. It was replaced in 1979 by an oceanside tank (about 150 meters at its outer most edge) which sports salt water and is heated.

This photo was taken as I walked the beach towards the west end. The quality of the sunset light is just gorgeous. I once read in a photo magazine that the quality of light is more important than the quantity of light.
