"Sunset Over Stanley Park"
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
The view from a dinner cruise on Coal Harbour as the sun set over Vancouver's renowned Stanley Park.
This dinner cruise was different from the others I had been on due to water conditions outside the sheltered harbour. The cruise normally ventures under the Lions Gate Bridge (pictured) and around the park towards False Creek/ Granville Island area. However the preceding night they had run into some choppy waves and quite a few of their patrons ended up with sea sickness, and tonight seemed to be the same conditions.
For more images from my recent trip back to Canada, they're available on my travelogue.
I hope you enjoy the shot,

Making it too hard for me Dan. That shoreline is too centered here ;-) The one thing I hate about this park is that is not in Calgary. The thing I love the most about it is everything else. A beautiful natural setting too close to civilization. Nice sunset and excellent warm colours over the Lions Gate Bridge. Thanks Dan.

I love the warm evening tones in this setting here. It seems to me that you love the 24-70 medium zoom for creating photos like this. I think you can think the most creatively with that lens because it seems to be in many of your photos. I think its partly because its a f2.8 that allows you to shoot in almost any lighting conditions. And yes the photo is perfectly level or you would never hear the end of it from me. An observation though on the water line cutting half way through the frame. I think I would have allowed the water line to drop a little to see more sky details. Having the water cut right through the middle like this.. is your choice dude.. but what I try and stay away from...
But the photo is still worth one happy deep green smiley!
Just as beautiful as "sunrise". Nice clear photo with warm colors pleasant for viewing.
