Photographer’s Note
This summer I climbed the Stawamus Chief and among the group of photos taken this one seemed to stand out above the rest. The couple on this huge rock were quite relaxed after their climb up here. The view up here is a rewarding treat and the half a million steps to get up here are excellent for the lungs and legs.
I have a feeling someone is going to say something about the rule of thirds...rock and clouds. I thought it made the photo worth sharing!

Great shot Paul! The view up there is spectacular, and this shows that very well with the ocean and forest visible far below. The altitude is also shown by the clouds, making this seem so high that you are in the sky. Great moment shared by the couple too, adding an essential bit of life to this. Excellent!

Hi Paul,
Rule of thirds…Critics know a lot about the rules but they don’t know how to take pictures. You do…
Thank you for this beautiful moment.

This an excellent shot that depicts your title very well. The rule of thirds works very well here and the different colours of their clothing make a wonderful contrast to the rock. Well done Paul.

A warm and grandiose scene. The view is grandiose from the top of the climb...

all together makes this an enjoyable image.

Hello, Paul--
Nice work here, the neutral and monochromatic background scheme provides a moody setting for the warm colors of the couple, and the composition is nice, letting us feel the space beneath them well.
Thanks!

Nice shot Paul;
I like the simplicity of the shot, and how the forground stands out so well against the background. Nice and sharp detail. I think the people could have used a 'touch' of 'Shadows/Highlights' to bring out some more detail in the shadows, but other then that a nice capture. Great view from up there!

Hi Paul,
It is a great idea of including another element to create a special atmosphere for this place. It really makes the compositional content stronger. I enjoyed this composition and the mist adds to my viewing pleasure. Well done!!
All the best.

Hello Paul,
What I like most about this shot is the atmosphere of this spot. The clouds hanging in the air create nice patterns and shadows below. It is interesting to have a nice, clear foreground, with the resting couple, and then a more mystical look in the rest of the frame.

Hi Paul,
This is a very unique image with unusual perspective from this high vantage point over the low clouded valley below - and a fine intimate moment as well - good colors and clarity. Nice work and TFS. Gerald

Hello Paul,
Excellent shot with an amazing view below and these two people you have including that are enjoying this amazing view. The clouds add to it as well and give this a fantastic atmosphere and stunning light/shadow play! Excellent work, Paul!
Greetings,
Ann
