Hi Gang,
Night shots are fun aren't they! First off you have chosen a really good point of view for this shot and using the tripod is the absolute best method for this type photo. Composition for these shots is sometimes tricky but your positioning of the tallest buidling and lights at the third is well-conceived. The sharpness you have acheived is excellent. For potential improvement I'd suggest trying three things. First, you might try the shot a little earlier in the evening during the "blue hour". This is the first hour or so after sunset when the sky has not yet gone black. It is always a trade off waiting for enough lights to come on but not have the sky go completely dark. It allows you to capture more detail in shadow areas. Second, remove the polarizer for the night shots as I'm pretty sure that it really isn't doing anything for you here but reducing light getting to the sensor (others can correct if I am mistaken). Third, lower the ISO to 100 or 200 max on the 350D. Since you're wisely using a tripod you can accomodate the slower shutter speed required for ISO 100/200 and greatly reduce any noise in the dark areas. Give those things a shot and see how they work for you and have fun. I love cityscapes like this.
Cheers!

Hallo from Germany!
A most impressive view in a very good quality I think. This architecture somehow is inhuman for me - it doesn't conform to men, it's hostile ... but nevertheless it's impressive. The "pattern" of these "chunks" works very well in this photo.
Greetings - and have a nice weekend!
Frank
