Photographer’s Note

A view of the city behind the pools in the Old Port. I prefer the skies on the other pictures of that night but the reflections here are totaly worth it!

Also, notice the lights of the skycrappers and how they bounce on the low clouds.

(Exposure was 10 seconds but TE doesn't allow that value apparently)

wow...I really don't kinow where to begin. The textures? The colors? The overall composition is beautiful, but the way that you have allowed the light and color to be absorbed w/o sacrificing clarity is really astonishing.

Hi Simon,
This is a very good night shop. Good POV with the angle of the wall and bank of lake/river? drawing my eyes into the frame. The angle of the wall and the bank of the river/lake? draw my eyes into the frame. You're right, the coloured reflections off the water and the lighting on the clouds, really do give impact to the image. Nicely done.

Wow!, the blue- the blue is such an interesting dicotomy to this photo; not too say how magnificant the rest is.

Simon the reflections are razor sharp. I love the colours and the fine night view across the canal. The warm white spectrum on the clouds is very good and contrast nicely with the city lights. Well composed image. Thanks Simon.

Hi Simon, your handling of the light in this one is excellent. The colour comes through very naturally with nice soft tones, as you would expect at night. The long shutter speed has given the water almost a silky look to it. I like that reflection of the lights in the sky, I guess it's something I've seen before but never really paid attention to it. Very nice.
