Photographer’s Note

This is of my favorite park in BC so far, Golden Ears park. My friends and I would spend a week there every summer during our high school years. Located in Maple Ridge, it's only about 1.5 hours (at a safe speed ;) from Vancouver. It's one of the few places around here that really feels you've gotten out of the city. You can find more information here.

One of the neatest things is waking up early in the morning and going down to Allouette Lake to watch sunrise. Since in the summer it happened at around 6:30am, I was the only person on the beach and what a magical experience it is. While the entire show didn't happen for me this time, if the clouds hadn't shielded the sun halfway through its ascent, the fine mist would of formed over the lake yeilding, possibly, a wonderful photo. Still, it was quite a fine morning, without rain, with a enough of a bite to the air to energize and keep moving.
