Colorful Montreal Photo

Photographer’s Note

There are many colorful, cute houses like these here in Montreal, especially in the area called "Le Plateau", which is a hip district near downtown. I tried to take a photo of them many times but it's not so easy. The streets where it is possible to find them are usually narrow so that with my camera I cannot take a front picture of them. And when I take the photo with an angle weird things happen to the perspective. And there are parked cars...

You seem to have done a good job here, Natalia. I love the brilliant colours and the sharpness. Nice wrought iron balconies, too. I tried something like this years ago, but with less success. One way to photograph upper stories is to shoot from a roof-top or balcony from across the street. If you get an eye-level angle you won't get the distortion.

Etant friand des couleurs vives...je n' ai pas pu faire autrement que de cliquer sur cette tres belle prise! Architecture bien mise en valeur par des couleurs attrayantes.

Salut. Ces facades sont splendides et je comprends tout à fait ton problème de perspective car j'y suis aussi confronté pour mes photos.

Je te propose un workshop pour te montrer que certaines corrections peuvent être faites en post traitement. En gros, j'ai corrigé la perspective à droite et à gauche, et j'ai interpolé l'image de façon à enlever le coin de ciel plat qui est à droite et que je ne trouve pas très joli dans la composition.

Natalia, I must say that this picture stands out in the tumbnail because of its color. In a bigger format, it oes not disappoint. Your framing is great. You've shjown a s much colors to fit your title.
