Photographer’s Note
aka "What happened to my friends?"
All along the coast of Nova Scotia we see evidence of the local climate's impact on buildings. Many times this leads to "interesting" transformations. Golden coloured shingles end up aging gracefully and become as gray as the mist and fog which often hangs around.
What is sad is when friends are no longer around who used to also "hang around". The abandonment is clear here.
It is still early in the season here, and all we see is dead grass and weeds from last year. The firtrees have barely started to bud. The shed is as always...
Here is another shed in the same area [ I ]

Hi Jay,
Good to see you by here also!
I just checked the other image at the workshop, and I think I would prefer this one, over the croped version, because it increase the feeling depicted, the sadness of the lost people that once were there.
The extra portion of the cloudy sky, and the almost square format used here transmit to me better the feeling of emptiness.
It's works pretty well the composition made in both cases.
Congratulations and thanks for share it.
My best regards,
JM

Jay both versions are very good in their own way. I like the present version because of therustic scene presented. The overcast sky and the emptyness of the area give a sense of desolation and decay. his version also shows some of the scenery around the shack while the workshop version is more focused on the building itself. Nice work for both Jay.

Hello Sjaak,
Both pictures are lovely also your previous picture.
The old barn gives a excellent composition between the pinetrees, the bad weather care for a difficult sky, but make this picture very attractive, very well done Jay.
Thanks for sharing.
Best regards,
John

The composition of this shed actually works better, jay -- because there it angles into more negative space.

Hi Jay. Very well balanced photo of this old fishing hut. It has a real rustic charm about it. The cropping is very good. tfs. Murray.

The dead grass and overcast sky add to the atmosphere of this picture, elements that are not as prevelant in the photo from your other image.

Kind of a sad photo, indeed.
I wonder how much such property can cost now?
Good work!
