Photographer’s Note
...
All along the harbours and coves in Nova Scotia, where fishermen live and work, we see sheds. There occur in all shapes and sizes...
This shed is along the water in Herring Cove. I liked the way how the door was held in place by two oars. The decorations - apart from the Christmas lights - are old floats from lobstertraps.
The fruittree at the edge is an Amelanchier; it is one of the first wild bushes or trees to blossom in the Spring.
The Amelanchier ( Serviceberry ), also known as juneberry, saskatoon, mespilus, sarvis, shad-blossom and shadbush, is a genus of about 25 species of small deciduous trees and large shrubs in the family Rosaceae.
Most likely we have the Amelanchier canadensis here ( Thicket Serviceberry ), aka American lancewood, currant-tree, downy serviceberry, Indian cherry, Indian wild pear, juice plum, juiceberry, may cherry, sarvice, servicetree, shadblow, shadbush
The name "Indian wild pear" ties in with the German name Felsenbirne < Rock-pear > which is certainly appropriate on the rocky shores of Nova Scotia.
Another shed in the same area is shown here [ II ]

Jay you have a very nice building here. Is not the rundown condition but also the charm that decay and age has given to the shed. I find this picture clear and well exposed. Though I think adding more of the background scenery would make a greater impact. A well composed image though. Thanks Jay :-)

Bonjour,
Je ne me sentirais pas tant en sécurité dans cette cabane
Bonne journée.

Hello Jay!
Nice picturesque old cabin, which despite its state of decay, seems to be important to its owner, i.e; the Xmas and other decorations.
Like you, I like the idea of oars keeping the door shut: Very appropriate for a fisherman's hut!
Good work, although a little dark! I have added a WS, with a little brightening and then saturation of the colours.
Talk to you soon on TE again!
Marie Louise.

Hello Jay,
We have a few of them here in Norawy too, both along the coast and by the larger lakes!
This one has obviously seen better days...
Image is well composed, fine details are captured!
Greetings,
