Photographer’s Note
Yesterday our district organized its yearly "Great Glebe Garage Sale"--an opportunity to get rid of old stuff or get hold of them in front of one's house for pennies. I was so happy to part with a lot of old pieces, and even earn some money while doing so. Quite tired afterwards, I was wondering around with my camera, finding this girl who had just sold the last drops of refreshments. She put her arms up, showing all had been gone; her happiness was contageous and innocent. There was a sense of untainted freedom in her as, full of joy, she was running about on the grass with dirty hands.

beautiful image, very spontaneous and natural, your images are so fresh and light, they all seem to be so easily taken, you must know well how to be with people and make them feel comfortable, very nice work

Hi Sasa,
It's absolutely contageous, for sure! I think the joy and the smile is ever expansive, and we need it in our world. So, is a shot very appropriate for our times, an invitation to recover some values of childhood. Great shot!

Angel.

Joy to the world in her smile, her jagged teeth, her dirty hands, her gesture.
You can't be bad upon seeing that photo.
You can't be grumpy, or mad...
It's the kind of production we should start our day with.

PS: Shall I mention: Splendid photography, dear Sasa ?
Naaah...You know that already, dear. (:-)))))

Well I see a new portrait style emerging here in a way, Sas - the joyous, tilted, cruciform portrait across a horizontal frame...;o) I was wondering, you know, whether you might consider working with another lens as an experiment, a 50mm f1.8 (or even better f1.4) say, deliberately as a means of weaning yourself off teh thoroughly familiar and mastered 18-70 that has served you so well but that may also be holding you back.
Of course I probably have no idea what I'm talking about but still... just a thought,
bw,
Francis

Hi Sasa,
It is perhaps only kids who can be this happy, such a precious moment, wonderfully captured. Love the way she extends her hand.

hi sasa,
most open, most friendly, most trouble-less smile...natural, the one which only kids can make...
back to sasa-sepia pleases me very much...
----------
i tried to scan my memory in order to find a similiar innocent and contagious smile which i might have photograped and i felt sorry to discover that most probably i do not have one...

One more similarity of Gandalf the Grey and Sasa the Hobbit: ability of mobilizing people according to your photographical wills. It will always be a wonder for me how you two make people look at you like that. Maybe he is a little bit different than you because he uses some witty tricks while I guess, you use your charm and dialogue. But you two get the same perfection in portrayal of human situation and soul. Just perfect. Little Miss Shine comes after horrible Mr. Chatterly (ok, not so horrible) :)

Great photo Sasa and it goes directly to my beloved theme. This is really a still. But not from a movie, it's from real real life! I can feel her smile as I am also asking for a lemonade. She is so beautiful and so expressive. Only has kids can be. Love this one.

This is what I would call a "Top Model", since I don't really care for the "real" top models which are plastic-perfection-objects (I feel sorry for them...).
This one? Yeah! Genuine, dynamic, pure (despite the dirty hands and garment), expressive, ...
Thanks for discovering this young talent and sharing it with us!

Cheerful shot... both her lips and her eyes say "I did it!". The first successes in life, being able to achieve something by your own... and now I'm sure she's ready to run for President.
Been eavesdropping your replies to Francis : DON'T go on a 30D now, this camera is bound to be replaced anytime with a newer sensor. (In fact everybody awaited that in feb. though it didn't happen). Unless you don't have the money for the 5D, a D200 is I think the best buy currently (despite my usual jokes with F. and its genuine lowlight unabilities).

Hi Sasa,
excellent portrait with a great face's and body's expression.
The b/w is superb and the light on her face perfect.
I like the mood of this picture :)
You're searching for a new camera ?
I think the brand isn't very important for you, because what you do with a simple D70 is just incredible.

Hey Sasa,
So what do we get when we put Sasa and GGGS together ... A lovely portrait of some happy girl. But not some/any girl, it has to be a girl whose beauty radiates from inside.
Nice work, Even in toronto, I could foresee something like this being posted in your gallery.
Have a good day !!!!!

Also very good contact with the model. Well done!

This is a very joyous, spontaneous and natural image. Her dirty hands -the fruits of her success, her t-shirt could read, I can do anything now. Reminds me so much of my daughter at that age, when was that............time goes so fast.
Happy moving, Sasa

Hello Sarolta,
I came upon your extraordinarily creative and original photos quite by accident. But I see that many TE-photographers and friends whose works I admire deeply had already discovered you. I too will keep an eye on the photos you post, and to brouse through you rich gallery again and again.
This is a wonderful portrait of the little girl, displaying the exuberance of a completed, successful task — and indeed exuding contagious happiness. In submitting the photo as a b/w rendition, you also indicate a timelessness in her childlike enthusiasm — the photo could have been taken 50 years, 60 years ago or 80 years ago. Well done!,
Regards from Virginia,
Bulent
