Photographer’s Note
I seem to photograph this bench alot, my father in law built it and we moved it to Vermont from Alberta Canada and then from Vermont to Ontario Canada and have had it on the waters edge ever since. Somehow seeing it sitting there even empty gives me this feeling of peace and serernity and if a walker happens to sit in it while they are walking by then its just even better. The Bench sits on the shore of Lake Erie a lake where I occassionally see the passing freighter or Tanker ship while I'm sitting on the bench and think of my husband who is on one of those big ships. I also see children playing in the water down the road on the beach. I see ducks, swans, geese, herons, seagulls and even the occassional Bald Eagle. Its an amazing place to be whether I'm alone or whether my husband is sitting right there with me. Of course I prefer the later for sure!
thanks for viewing my gallery and your comments on my photos.

Almost forgot, the reason I called it Dads Bench Restored is that last fall we had a big storm and the bench got blown over so hard the back broke right in half. I got busy this spring and rebuild the back, not quite as good as the way it was but I thnk Dad would be pleased and I hope he stops by and sits in it for awhile even though I can't see him I like to imagine that hes sitting there.

Nice new angle Donna and good work on that bench. I know how much it means to both of you.

Hello Donna,
I like the path curving around the bench!
Otherwise I notice the beautiful sunshine to give great colours to the landscape, lovely flowers and very much spring...
Well composed presentation!
Greetings,

Now that summer is on its way you can get even more pleasure out of your bench. You made a good job of repairing it.
Btw your note made me cry.:)

Hi Donna,
what a beautiful sunny composition, what a nice little bench ... and what a touching, warm-hearted note! I think he would like the way you rebuilt the bench - and also the fact that you actually rebuilt it!

Hi Donna!
I love this kind of pictures, lucky us, they are very usual in your gallery.
I love the point of view so romantic they give, but at the same time, the sense of timeless, and common life they offer us.
Great light too, and great depth, the other value of your pic!
Cheers and thank you for your words about my last Lisbon pic!
By the way, you look gorgeous on your last profile picture!
Take care Donna!

I was not initially allured by that one, but the light and colors are very nice, and there is a lot of quietness in the image. I especially like the blue lake in the background.
All the best,
Emmanuel

Hi Donna,
A thoughtful image .. with the vivid Spring against the empty scene. It is interesting how it sits in that edge of the frame looking out to a place we cannot see. .. It just strikes me that is opposite how most compose benches .. showing us the view from the bench .. interesting effect this way .. and again a thoughtful image.
take care,
John

Hi Donna. Nice shot; good quality and framing, but I would have turned the bench. Lovely note.
