Photographer’s Note
I stayed at this man's ranch outside Vavenby for a few days, in the house he had built as a teenager at the top of the hill where he used to sit and think. He has hundreds of acres, and cattle, and dreams of bringing the film industry to his part of the world, with all its amazing locations.
He is connected to his land, and I admire him a lot.

Hi, Andrew,
I really like this shot. You have cropped it perfectly to fill one side with the horse's profile and the other with the man's smiling face. It has a blue tone to it, but with the snow and all that kind of suits it. Excellent composition and the man has such a friendly expression. Well done!! Regards,
Shelly

Hello Andrew,
I like this photo. It is a simple composition that gives us the best, i.e. the smiling man and his horse. You present to us this man in his surroundings, and we can feel your respect for him.
There is a nice grain in your photo. A relief in this era of 'no-noise perfect photo'.
You did your job well. It is classic in its best meaning.

He dedicates himself wholeheartedly to what he loves. There is a lot to admire in that. I think this picture depicts that perfectly. The white background and the darkness of the foreground contrast well. The dedication and love is clear in his expression, the background shows what he loves and the horse appears so at ease that you can just imagine how well it is treated. A beautiful picture I think.

Hello Andrew,
A superb shot, and engaging note. You've captured the man's personality nicely between the photo and the note. Impecable composition, excellent scan with high definition.
Cheers,
Bulent

A very nice double portrait, man and horse. The snow make for a natural neutral darkground which I think as usefull here to maintain the focus on these two characters. There a little noise in some part of the image though.
All the best,
Emmanuel
