Photographer’s Note
Another shot from December's trip back home to BC (just noticing this is my 100th shot of Canada here on TE). This is 'Kennedy River' flowing South East to Vancouver Islands Largest Lake 'Kennedy Lake'.
The lake is part of the ancestral lands of the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation, and is named for the last governor of the Colony of Vancouver Island, Sir Arthur Kennedy.
This is a favorite stop en-route from my home town of Port Alberni to Vancouver Islands West Coast.
I hope you like the shot,
- Dan
Thanks to my friend Paul Enns (PJE) for his help in finding the name of the mountain in the background. It's Mt. Maitland.

Hi Dan,
This is a great shot of the Kennedy river, with the river leading your eye to the breathtaking scenery at the back. Great composition and exposure as always.
Best regards,
Paul.

Hi Dan,
I can almost feel the smell of the pine trees and the fresh air of the forest.
I like very much your composition of this simple, natural and pure photography.
Thank you,
Nelu

Excellent shot Dan. A very well exposed photo showing good details from the snow on the mountain top and also showing excellent details in the trees and foreground. I just spent 30 min hunting down the name of this mountain and still have not found it. This is part of Nootka sound area and is where the logging protests were happening last year. I will find it and let you know.. Cheers

Dan,
What a great shot to push you over the 10 000 point edge. A coincidence that it happens to be shot 100 from Canada! Well composed, and it feels very serene.
Cheers,
Andrew.

Hi Dan,
Gorgeous shot with the snowcapped mountain towering over the scene. I love the view of the green evergreens hugging the river on both sides. Great colours, wonderful POV and beautiful details! Great work, Dan!
Greetings,
Ann

This is a really fantastic shot. I just returned from Washington/Oregon and recognize in your photo many of the same elements I tried to capture in photos - the gray skies reflected in the water, the dark mass of Douglas-fir forest, the irregular snow patterns on mountains.
