Lift-Off 2006

A scene of some of the hot air balloons getting ready for an evening launch from a sports field in nearby St.Andrews West,Ontario.This is part of an annual hot air balloon festival.Taken at 19:25h.The weather was calm and perfect for launching.I liked the way the balloons were in various stages of inflation,and the frame was filled with their vivid colours.

Hi Rob, The colours are stunning & superbly composed, I think these hot air balloons look beautiful & make great photographic subjects & you have just proven my point, the light is excellent, even the frame highlights it well & welcome to TE. kind regards

These hot air balloons ("montgolfières" is the French term, from the inventors, the brothers Montgolfier) usually provide nice colors and it is the case here. I would perhaps have moved to the left to get a better view of the 4th balloon, and tried to avoid the metal frame in the foreground.

i love the pic, the pov and dof are amazing, the timing is perfect . only thing i find, is that the horizon should be a little more straight
