[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
“Take-off” is the name of this photograph and it shows a double crested cormorant taking off in St. John’s harbor. The bird’s identification was taken from earlier shots. This was taken from Harbor Side Park and you never know what you may see when walking in St. John’s. Photography is fantastic in this city of legends. Unfortunately I had to shoot directly into the sun but you can see the power in his takeoff.
The shooting parameters were: shutter speed 1/1600, f-stop 5.6, ISO 100, focal length 160mm.
This photograph was a level adjusted, smart sharpened, and saved for the web.

Hi Jim.
"Take off" is fantastic view. the composition seems great. it's always difficult to position such actions, and you have done it well. congrats.
