Back When

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This old barn is a gem from "back when" located in Greendale, B.C. Photographically speaking, I would have liked a different POV to avoid the large tree right behind the barn, but I took this shot in part to check on some white balance settings I have been using on my D80. Most owners of the D80 and similar Nikon DSLR's probably already know this, but I just discovered that there is a simple 3 stop adjustment even on Program Auto to either "warm" or "cool" the color of the image. I liked the color of the barn at the -3 setting seen here. Similar shots taken at "0" default and +3 were distinctly cooler colors.
Greendale is a small rural farming community located south of the freeway west of Chilliwack. Greendale hosts a wonderful "Farm Tour" each summer - a wonderful opportunity to see the community at its best. |

Hello Gerald,
The trees behind the barn is not a bother a all. Wonderful composition with nice colors & saturation. I'm very glad that you applied a small & subtle level of sharpness. Nice WE to you. Regards. Latiff.
PS: Went through your gallery. You have many nice landscape photos that I like. I'm going to put you in my favorite list.
Perfect exposure, perfect sharpening. Very nice shot
