Photographer’s Note
A Spring time shot of a lock gate, which will in a few weeks be jammed with pleasure craft as they make their way from the St. Lawrence River into the Lake of Two Mountains (Lac des Deux Montagnes). Isn't that a lovely name? At the moment the lock lies almost dry and deserted, but it will spring to life very soon. It was a beautiful Spring day when we were here strolling along the boardwalk and enjoying the lovely weather. Right above the lock you can see the railway bridge and next to that the highway which crosses the river at this point.

Hey, I have been there, Joan! It was in 1994, ten years ago. I stood there for a few hours, watching the ships go up and down the lock. I could tlet my self go away. This is so interesting, and your shot is well captured. I must havesome pictures of this place, down at the bottom of my drawers..
Thanks, very well done.

Excellent and clever shot with vivid colours, Joan. The lock takes us into the picture. I like the reflection in the tranquil water, all the technical details and the depth. Very fine work.

Nice shot. Everything important is in focus (or close enough not to matter). You made a nice choice in centering the picture so as to show the reflection AND the bridge.
