Photographer’s Note
...
Sometimes Nature is a painter; sometimes a sculptor, a choreographer.
And then there is the time when Nature is all of the above.
I decided to listen to anöther member, and to not expose my nöggin to the outdöörs without a balaclava...
So on the first morning of this month I decided to photograph some of Nature's art
as presented to me on the inside of my windöws. The conditions in the previous night had been righ for these ice sculptures to "be created"... : humidity from the Atlantic Ocean, and serious Arctic cold under a cloudless sky.
I have never seen iceflowers that look like dancers or fairies before.
Generally I see the flowers in the shape of fir-trees. But here they are: dancing "apparitions"...
The glow in the lower left is the reflection of the rising sun.
The darker area on the upper part is Big Island in Sambro Harbour,
on the left side, and Inner Sambro Island straight ahead,
both visible thru the frözen seasmöke.
A differently formed "ice lichen" on a different pane of glass is here...
Tech talk: shot taken in macro-mode, then scaled and captioned.

Superb POV, Jay
Very nice shape and details of frozen ice lichen on the foreground. And also shaded skyline in the background gives dimension to the picture.
Interesting way of seeing things.

Hello Jay! This looks ice cold ... brrrrrr. Wonderful title, artistic like your photo, and how right you are, nature offers a tremendous spectrum of little art works, if we only take our time and try to see. Nice the pink of the rising sun in the back matching the blue white so well. Great work, Barbara.

More ice dancers! I do love these delicate little fronds and the colours in the BG set them off nicely

Hi Jay,
Beautiful soft palette .. I love the way the horizontal lines of color outside interact with the designs .. they make for a wonderful superimposition. Well seen. Thank you for sharing it .. thoughtful and wonderful image,

Ineresting!! VERY interesting!!! I've commented on other "ice apparitions", and am amazed at the variety of types of "iceflowers" that occur in cold temps!
Nicely done...........and the help from the rising sun was well-timed....

Hallo!
TFS, DINI.

Funny, inside these ice sculptures you can see many things. Nice coloured sky as background, good details, fine exposure and sharpness. Interesting to see such a close-up once.
Greetings.

Jay, this is simply superb to me!
It englobes creativity, the mastering of technique with its sharpness, balance of colours and subtle, an eye to see beauty in everyday life. A poetic image with a zen attitude, here and now: that is why I think it fits particulary well in Celebration and also in Decisive Moment. Great work.
The note is a pleasure to read and instructive.
Personally I would prefer a simple frame without caption to leave free space around it...
Thanks for sharing.
