Photographer’s Note
At Second Beach in Stanley Park, this guy creates sculptures out of stones and driftwood. He uses no glue or no mechanical devices . . . just balance.

I live near Vancouver and I see this guy all the time on the beach. Sometimes you will see hundreds of these little "statues" along the beach. Mimi, you have captured the essense of this magical event well ... good job!

Very nice shot. You can sense the concentration. I like the way you have also included another small sculpture in the foreground that sets the scene.
I saw lots of similar sculptures on a beach near Montezuma in Costa Rica - maybe the same guy on holiday?

it´s fun to see this guy´s hobby, hís sculptures are really nice!! he looks very cool with his long hair and cap. I like the predominant blue, and the vertical shape, the same as the sculptures. thanks for sharing mimi.

I have seen this guy before Mimi, glad you have captured him. I remember he has laminated magazine articles from when he has been featured. Oddly, I remember that one of the articles was from Penthouse. This guy is a regular of Vancouver and has been doing this a long time. Nice host here, although it would be preferable I think to see more of his face. Good shot, brings back memories for me, thanks.

Good shot Mimi!
I'm originally from BC, and saw this guy about a month and a half ago.
He's been doing this for some time now- kind of a performer of sorts. He makes quite a few tips busking along the seawall.
Nice you caught him in action- but I think it would have been maybe a bit better from a slightly different POV
Cheers!
