Photographer’s Note
My wife and I drove to Whistler for the Canadian Critical Care Conference. From Vancouver, you take Highway 99 which is also known as the Sea-to-Sky Highway. This is currently undergoing an extensive upgrade in preparation for the 2010 Winter Olympics.
The upgrade has been controversial given the concern of a negative environmental impact of the project. However, the improvements should hopefully improve the safety of the road which has had a dangerous past owing to the narrow, curved roads and aggressive drivers.
We stopped to admire the sights in our own backyard, which we don't do often enough.

Don't fret Don... I've had 76 people stop by my shot, and so far only garnered a critique from Alvin.
I like how the middle dark layer of trees seperates the brighter band of forground trees and the snow capped mountains.
There have been Sting spottings in Whistler as he and The Police are warming up for their reunion in North Vancouver.
Any spotting?
All the best,
- Dan

Hello Donald,
I wish I can go there to sky someday :) It seems to be a great place. I like this scenery which is very typical of this place. Colors, details, lighting and DOF are very good. Well done! Thanks,
Claudine

Well hello Don. I must say its nice to see the wondeful mountain range from Whistler area. I gather view can be seen from one of the lookout spots on the highway. This is a very nice balanced panorama photo. Good work!

Hi Donald, looks like were were both into mountains today. :) Great narrow crop - almost giving us what would be the view through some binoculars or one of those pay-for-view contraptions you often find at places with sights like this. That cloud looks like its about to envelope those great mountains! Will have to check out this new road next time I am in the area...

Hi, Don! What a nice composition, mixing the green of the trees, the icy white of the mountain range and the blue of the sky. The clouds add a nice framing to the whole scene! Welol done, my friend! Greetings from Rio! Miguel.

Hi Don,
You really controlled the potential glare off the glacier here in this panorama shot. I like the clarity of detail in the foreground trees and also the smooth, unusual cloud hovering over the peaks like some UFO. The lighting is well managed. A very fine capture, Don...later.

Hey Don
Great view. Nice comp and color.
This shot really makes me miss home.
We are short of natural beauty here in Seoul.
Anyhow well done.

Hello Don,
This is an amazing shot of the mountain range you can see along the Sea to Sky Hihgway. The contrast in the photo is fantastic, the colours are beautiful and the use of a polarizer makes the sky look so beautiful! Great compostion with great details and light! Great work, Don!
Greetings,
Ann
