Photographer’s Note
Went to the park today - it was 27C (amazing when it was about 5C a few days ago). There is a little animal farm for the kids where I saw this fabulous peacock with its tail wide opened. Not only was he gorgeous but he was shaking his tail at the hens around him. We thought that it was a mating parade but the hens weren't female peacocks but seemed to be some exotic kind of chicken. So maybe he was trying to scare them away of his territory or maybe he was just opened minded and didn't want to discriminate for a little racial difference.
I took about 30 shots, out of which 25 are good - unbelievable. I didn't know which one to post so I looked at the peacock theme and chose one of mine that was a little different composition. All my shots were taken through a fence so it was not always obvious and the peacock was moving around quite a bit chasing the hens and shaking his tail which made a funny sound, as if the feathers of his tail were dry rafia or hay rubbing one against the other.

Absolutely stunning, Nina. Both the bird and the photograph. I love the symmetry and the way you've composed the shot. As for the colours...I'm speechless.

Your straight on face to face really brings out the captivating aspect of the fanned feathers. The feather "eyes" cause our own eyes to wander in a circular fashion around the composition.Bien vu Nina.

This is fabulous, Nina! Not only did you find a cooperative peacock but you found one with all its plumage intact. A stunning photo!

I do not know why but this picture makes me smile. It is so funny to see a living being amidst this space-age design :)
Extremely well caught!

Fabulous light and a nice balance work together here. Stunning colours. I lived in Yunnan province in China for one year and the peacock is the emblem.
