Photographer’s Note
Following our first successful Vancouver TE Meet in December, we decided to hike up Dog Mountain on January 13th, 2007.
Participants: Paul, Alvin, and myself.
Dog Mountain is a small peak off of Mount Seymour in North Vancouver, BC. It's very nice, as the hike is only ~ 1 hour and the views are beautiful.
Although it was quite fogged in, the sky cleared soon after we arrived to the peak.
We all had a good time and I'll look forward to the great shots from Alvin and Paul.

Hi Donald,
I was wondering when I was going to see some photos of this TE meeting. Great shot from Dog Mountain with a stunning view over the trees, mountains and the snow in the foreground. Great composition and beautifully captured! Well done, Donald!
Greetings,
Ann

Lovely clear layers - the snow, trees, mountains and sky - very well composed. What looks like a line of footprints breaks up the snow nicely and is a nice, delicate human touch in a pristine natural photograph.
Well done!

Hi Don. Thanks for posting the first and for creating this link for these postings. I have to say I like the way the snow slope adds a nicely curved base for the trees and mountains to fill the balance of the frame in the old standard and yet attractive rule of thirds. Also excellent exposure control on those delicate highlights on the distant sun filled peaks. Good work my friend!

Great shot Don! This really shows the nice light up there, and the view of the mountains as the sun was coming out. I still can't believe how quickly the weather changed and how clear it became. Excellent!

Donald,
This is a great winter landscape with good composition and POV.
The lighting and color are fine with excellent sharpness. The footprints in the snow add depth to the snow field and also a human touch to the photo.

Asa

Nice shot Don;
I'm still jealous/ envious that I wasn't able to make it.
But I'm glad to see that guys had a great time, although I'm unsure of how successfull for Paul as he seemed to be having some camera issues in the cold. A nice view here with the forgound trees providing some interest. Excellent exposure and sharp detail.
All the best Don!

Hi Don,
I must say that I regret not being able to accompany you on this hike...You were fortunate that the skies cleared when you reached the top and this is taken in fine light. I like the exposure level and the slice of foreground snow here. The hues seem very natural and the clarity of detail is impressive on the trees. Well captured. Cheers.
John
