Photographer’s Note
Once again, I'm trying to keep my New Years resolution of simply taking my camera out more often. Yesterday wasn't much of day in Vancouver, but we headed out to a park alongside the Fraser River in Vancouver. It's mostly frequented by dog walkers and runners. Never the most picturesque of parks, although it has a neat interconnection of boardwalks (that you can see in the photo).
Filters used: polarizer and 1 stop ND grad
PS: I performed a contrast mask to bring out the foreground.

Too bad the weather wasn't better, because it was so grey that it's difficult to make much of the scene. I've recently discovered this park too, but I've yet to take any pictures there that I like. Good job with the processing, as the foreground looks surprisingly detailed and colourful. Good work!

Hi Don,
Well composed with a good exposure level. You made the most of a dull day here, catching the textured sky, with the trees on the left providing good balance. Though some disagree, I find that a polarizer helps even in these situations, as you have demonstrated. The wintry look is well conveyed here in this painterly result. All the best, Don...later.
