Photographer’s Note
Here is yet another view of the predawn colours on Dec 15th, as seen from Sambro Head over Big Island...
This is an earlier view < by some 150 shots! > of the impending sunrise.
The shot was taken at 7:21AM, well before the brighter rays were starting to announce the emergence of the sun.
The sea-smoke was already rising close to the Eastern shoreline of Sambro Harbour.
NOTE: This shot is without PP; other than scaling and compressing to fit TE. In other words colours are as shot.
PS2 Other shots from this early rising; on TE; Photo time 7:37AM
and on TN; Photo time 7:45AM:
I am interested to hear which photo of this trio you like best, and most importantly the "why". TIA
PS Following a suggestion, I have also posted a cropped version in WS. Let me know what YOU think.

Beautiful colours and the location looks amazing. I love to see those who are dedcated to a sunrise photo shoot. Perhaps a tighter crop of the left side could create a stronger composition. As well, the information on the bottom of the photograph is a bit distracting but it still is a lovely image.
Well done.

Well you're making me work this morning! Ok so this is what I think. the pic on treknature has more the effect of the smoke, but the colors are not as full as in the "Sky and Sea "Smoking"" from your other post. Now comparing last mentionned post to "Early Predawn Colours", I'm not sure which one I like more. First the colors are different: one is more on the orange tones and the other in the reds and purples. so I think I like better "Early Predawn Colours" because of the multiple colors involved. But the texture of the clouds in your pastpost is quite amazing. Vegetation wise, this post is more interesting for me (well my landscape architecture roots have to come out from time to time) because I feel it formes a bette foreground than the simple grasses in the "Sky and Sea "Smoking"" picture. Ok, now for your WS, I'm not sure I actualy like it. The original is better (IMO)because I like the wide panoramic view we have. We also lose the different textures of the vegetation in the foreground.
So I guess I'm telling you that it is a tug of war between this post and you last because they are both wonderful.
For the note on the writing though, I will have to agree with namad on that one... maybe just a signature would be nice.
talk to you later
Seb...

Hey Jay,
I'm sorry but I just saw that you responded to my critique! Interesting links you posted! I really like this shot. It shows that I was right about the "even without the flare"-comment;)
The pieces of fog over the lake are amazing and the peaceful atmosphere almost touches me!
Looking our for more postings of yours!

I really LOVE this shot!!
I was crossing the Rockies a couple of years ago, and happened upon a raging forest fire!!
Though we motorists were kept far away from
that maelestrom, the colors over the tops of the trees were very similar!!
VIVID oranges/yellows/violets, make up an
interesting and expressive photo!!
Many thanks!!
