Sky and Sea "Smoking" Photo

Photographer’s Note

An alternative title for this shot is "Early Bird"...

In this daybreak shot the sky is ablaze with colour, while the ocean is smoking...

The sea smoke is surrounding Big Island in the Sambro Harbour. The sun has yet to peek over the horizon.

"Sea smoke" is a phenomenon that occurs when the temperature of the air is lower than the water.

I took the shot from the stony beach below my place, at the water's edge of the Atlantic Ocean.

PS
I also looked at adding colour saturation in the shot. But for my taste the original < no change!> is better.
I know however that different folks have a "different eye"... So I have posted the "saturated" version in WS.

Am interested in hearing opinions!

Hello Jay

This one bears amazing similarity to my "lonely island".
The eveing setting for this photo is amazing with all the warm colour tones of the sky making an excellent contrast to the dark siluette of the island.
The overall choice of framing is good, maybe a little to square to my normal liking but still very good.
