Photographer’s Note
The sky over the Canadian Rockies changes often.
When there is interplay with light the results can be spectacular.
This photo was done from a bench in a small park behind my house, IN THE CITY.
It was shot in the middle of January, so there is snow on the ground, and on the mountains.
The solitary lightpole reminds us that we are in the city... surrounded by "civilisation".
These lights come on automatically at dusk. This one was an "early bird"...

Hard to believe this is IN THE CITY!
Nice colours and great layering.
Looks like mountains on mountains.

You have a great view of the mountains. I am also an Albertain. Looks like it was Chinooking that day. Very nice picture.
Cheers,
Randy

A familiar, yet incredibly beautiful view of the day sinking into night, leaving us wih a sunset glow in the midst of winter, reflecting off clouds and settling warmly on cold mountain snow. The lightpole reminds me of a minute moon and is a lovely surprise.
