Photographer’s Note
Port Alberni, the home town of Dan.
I was 2 hours in this town. So I do not see a lot of things. I have just few pictures of it. One is from the harbour with these small boats. I have seen that they use these boats to push the wood in the see. I think to sort these pieces of wood. But Dan can certainly explain this better than me.

Hello Jacques,
This is an interesting scene. I like the way the boats on the other side of the view have their own little sheds. These tug like boats probably have big motors but they're cute. I would probably have cropped the white thing off the bottom but that is just my opinion. Nice. Thank you for sharing.
Cheers,
Debbie

The composition, pov, sharpness, and details are well defined in this picture. The clarity also captures the eye. I agree with Debbie that I too would crop the bottom off to eliminate the distraction object in the bottom of the picture.

hi jaques
I see that you jumps for some Canadian harbour life - I like here the contrast of the red funny boats as a contrast to the boathouses in the back and the dark water. Interesting motif where even e little more crop at top, to avoid the sky, had worked as well.

Bonsoir Jacques,
J'aime le contraste avec les couleurs des deux bateaux et le reste qui est plutôt en noir et blanc. L'image est bien contratée ce qui compense le manque de soleil.
Amicalement

Hahaha...
Sorry for the delay Jacques, and thank you very much for posting for me! Very kind of you. You know CORMAC is also from Port Alberni?
Yes, this is my hometown- and I will be back in about 2 months to spend time with my family. I will have to be sure to get some more photos of Port Alberni- as I only have a few...
The boat in the front must be the smallest tug boat I have ever seen, and the boat behind is used for moving floating trees in the water I believe.
Thanks again for posting Jacques!

P.S.- Here is the link to all photos Port Alberni.

How did I miss this picture of Port Alberni? I have a special interest in this place, because it is also my hometown. Dan and I joke about it, because what are the odds of 2 active memeber of TE both coming from the same small town, never meeting each other or knowing that the other existing until we meet on TE? Thanks for posting this shot of the 'dozer boats' which are named that because they are like bulldozers on water. They are very deep, maybe 3 or 4 meters which is not visible underwater, so they can push things without tipping over.
