Photographer’s Note
Saskatchewan is a province of Canada, and it is also the name of this mountain. While the province of Saskatechwan is known for being very flat and full of wheat farms, the mountain with it's name is is very high and very rugged. This was taken just before sunset, with the sun still hitting the tops of the mountains while the valley is already in shadow. This may look like it's wilderness with no one around, but at my back is the Icefields Parkway, a stretch of road from Banff to Jasper. This is one of the most spectacular drives anywhere, because it's lined with views like this for the entire 300km distance.

Hi Alvin;
I'm impressed by the sharpness- amazing detail. Excellent exposure/ levels- and I like the metalic look of the forground. Almost like metal shavings.
All the best,

Nice work, i like the harmony provided by the shape of the mountain echoing the shape of the puddle in which it is reflected. Strong composition.
thanks!

Hey Alvin,
Doesn't seem to be taken just from a road. Great composition, POV and depth. I like the foreground with a pond that reflects the stunning scenery of mountains though shadowed by the clouds still came out very sticking with the snow-capped tip and clear blue sky!

Jom

Hi Alvin,
Impressive image due to the perfect sharpness, magnificent colors (good use of the light) and composition (reflection in the puddle, the cloud looking as if erupted from the mountain. Nice work, TFS!

Hi Alvin
Marvellous reflection of the snowy peaks, with good sharpness & minimalist color, apart from the intense blue sky. Tfs!

Hello Alvin,
A shot of a spot in the Canadian Rockies that is less popular than most! I love what you have captured here with the sand in the foreground leading to this beautiful body of water reflecting the scenery! The lighting here is stunning and the sharpness is fantastic! Great composition with beautiful details! Excellent work, Alvin...I love this one (especially because it's different from the usual scenes in the Canadian Rockies)!
Greetings,
Ann

Hi Alvin. I do like the wide angle 12mm effect of taking in the whole width of this lake in this photo. Great reflection and excellent lighting too. A wonderful place to check out indeed! Thanks for sharing!

Hi Alvin,
Superb PoV to get the reflection, but I first noticed plenty of wide angle feeling, which does not leave me indifferent, the right cloud gives a funny touch as it seems the mountain is smoking !
Have a nice day,

Serwus Alvin !
Majestic mount in a superb lighting. The clouds are playing very important role in this wide angle and the reflections are only bonus.
Best wishes,
M.

Hi Alvin. Yes, a fine impression from along the Icefields Parkway, and it is really like you write - jaw-dropping scenery all along, it has to be one of the most scenic drives that can be made anywhere in the world and certainly one of my favorites. Beautiful framing and outstanding tech on this one, rendering the crystal-clear water and the pristine landscape in a very impressive manner. Good inclusion of the foreground for depth and as a delimiter of the reflection.

Very nice Alvin! The exposure on the sky and it's reflection seem just about the same so very nice work there. Like Dan mentioned, the foreground rocks look just like magnetic shavings to me. Very good framing too!

Doug

Bonjour Alvin,
Daniel.

Hi , Alvin .
I have spent hours looking at all the wonderful photos from Canada - and Alberta , but this one is so beautiful and absolutely outstanding !
The scenery sets out beauty and serenity and makes one feel really small when presented with this sight . I truly wish I will have another chance to visit Canada in the future !
My sincere compliments and greetings from Denmark .

Nice shot Alvin, I really like this images composition and colour. Very nice dark ground and deep blue sky.
Maybe stepping forward and taking a lower POV would improve the shot, giving the image a more 50/50 split between real and reflection.
See what you think of my reflection posts.
Have a good day.
A great mix of landscapes also.
TFS.

Hi Alvin:
You know, I don't know why, but until recently I hadn't really looked through your Canadian Rockies shots. Absolutely fantastic, one of the best galleries I've seen in my opinion. This one is no exception. I love the little lake in front--not your typical Canadian Rockies lake and I think it's what makes the shot unique. The whole shot also has a very dark and rich feel to it because of the shadow. Great shot.
