Photographer’s Note
This sunflower is growing completely on its own through the rocks beside a beautiful lake and near the ocean here at White Point. Sunflowers are quite hearty I think and last longer into the fall than some others. We have already had a couple of frosts, but this one seems to be doing just fine!

Very nice work :-)

Hello Sarah,
A lonely sunflower, how extraordinary that it would take root amidst the rocks. Of course, that is the feeling conveyed by your photo. An entirely different mood could have been captured if you took a close up of the spirals the sunflower seeds make. The background would have been entirely out of focus, but still very effective.

I love the idea of this-- the one beautiful flower (a sunflower no less) sprouting up in a field of smooth rocks beside a beautiful body of blue water still standing strong after a couple of frosts... However my eye seems to be drawn to the roundness of the rocks and the beautiful blue water instead of the flower. But nevertheless i still think it is beautiful.

Beautiful and intriguing. I wouldn't expect to find a sunflower in such a place. The colors make a very nice contrast.

nice composition Sarah, I didn't expect sunflower growing there, too. also the rocks and lake are nice, you should throw away that piece of wood which is on the left side of the picure

I never knew sunflowers grew close to the water. The yellow flower with the blue water is quite pretty. Nice shot!

Bonjour Sarah,
A bientôt.

hello Sarah,
Belle composition.
Bon dimanche
Marie
