Photographer's Note

The "Spar Garnet" is approaching the locks of the Welland Canal, which connects the lake Ontario with the lake Erie, so bypassing the Niagara falls. On the backround, the bridge of the Glendale Avenue is lifted.

It is impressive to see these big ships enter the narrow locks: they fit almost exactly in. And then, the good old Archimedes lifts them up, so the ships can navigate up to the center of North America.
