North of Garibaldi Lake over the mountian range where Black Tusk resides there is another valley where Cheakamus Lake Trail resides. Along this trail are some of BC's first growth trees that are protected by the park. The trail to Cheakamus Lake is along Cheakamus River where the glacier water graces the rainforest trees along the river bank. This view here shows one of the Coast Douglas Fir trees that stands well over 200 feet up. These fir trees are native to the west coast and are surpassed in height only by the Coast Redwoods.
I saw the dead tree leaning on the Fir and decided a vertical capture would make this a worthy presentation. Enjoy!

This is a really great photo. The perspective you chose is very creative. The angles created by the various trees jutting into the frame give a true idea of the height these trees have acheived. Excellent color and really great composition.

You've captured wonderful detail and color; I find the framing a bit confusing. The note is full of interesting dretail.

Definitely one of my favorites. Not that it hasn't been done before, but your POV is breathtaking. If I look long enough, I'll get vertigo.
Very nice colors and clarity.

What a dramatic composition, given by this vertical capture, Paul! The abstract result pleases me very much and the colors and textures are great, here. I love such POVs, with distortion of perspectives. Original and very effective.

Wow! Unusual view of these trees, looking straight up. Not only is the angle unsual, but having the tree coming from the side is very eye-catching as well. I admire your creativity in coming up with this!

Hi Paul. That is pretty crazy but cool POV. I see a bit of lens flare but it’s not a bit deal. That's some light you had working its way through your shot. Nice work Paul!

Amei o contraste entre essas cores lindas;
A composição também é diferente, arrojada, muito bonita. Ótimo resultado Paul, parabéns.

Hi Paul - at first they were palm trees, great perspective, the blue and green make a very pleasant contrast.

Excellent and disturbing pov. The compo is vertiginous, in a certain way. Great light and colors too.
