Photographer’s Note
Saint Patrick’s Old Age Home had a great party yesterday, Saint Patrick’s Day. All the healthy residents crowded into the auditorium to have one big celebration. This leprechaun was kind enough to show. The music on stage was provided by the Celtic fiddlers of which I have some lovely pictures which I will share. Later Sheila Williams, a great local singer, provided additional entertainment.
As you can see, most residents are in wheelchairs but when the party starts fun is had by all. This big celebration was so successful because of the hard work of the staff and the great the volunteers, of which this leprechaun is one.
In this particular photo, I decided to highlight the leprechaun and this is how I did it:
-Select the leprechaun with the magnetic tool
-Feather 3
-Select inverse
-Desaturated
-Save for the web
I thought about blurring the background but decided against it because I wanted the viewer to see the atmosphere of the party.

I would have loved to see a bit more of the fiddlers, but I like the picture all the same. Must have been a great party.

Interesting document. I would suggest a crop of the left wheelchairs. I like your work with colours. You can get the same effect desaturating the whole picture and afterwards using the History Brush Tool (PS7) to get colour where you want. It is wise to make this with a layer copy.
