I woke up early to a beautiful sunrise this morning. One of the nicest things about living in the flatlands is the big sky. This makes for a clear shots of sun and moonrises, and all kinds of amazing cloud formations. It's especially nice when there is some color, like this morning, though I don't get the color here at sunrise and sunset that I did living in Los Angeles (of course, that's because we don't have nearly the pollution).

What a wonderful picture about this splendid sunrise, the small dark foreground care for a lovely contrast to the wonderful sky and the small red ball of the sun, very well done!
Have a nice weekend,

You have captured a really decisive moment! The sun is going to vanish behind the horizon in a few minutes and it gives an extra colors and light effects to the scene! I like these delicately illuminated clouds very much!

Hello Mike. Impresive colours, the time of the photo is perfect. I like the composition and the point of view too. The sky is very interesting because the clouds add some variety and isn't a boring sky. Congratulations.

Well done! The railings give it a nice perspective, the cloud formation is super, and the sun, being so small is amazing. Great colors, good composition, and pov.

Mike, you just caught the right moment. The 'railing' that Harjit refers to is of course the High Level Bridge. I disagree on the note about color. Just wait for a windy day in the fall to churn up some dust from the harvested fields. Chinook sunsets are the most spectacular of all.....
