Photographer's Note

Today a glimpse of scenery along the Cheakamus Lake Trail. This works its way through old growth forest along its 3 km and takes about 45 min. to complete. Cheakamus is a glacier fed lake, surrounded by mountains towering to 1,600 metres (5,248 feet).
This photo is a view of the river at the west end of the lake. What impressed me was the glacier green water and the old sun bleached logs that have been lying here completely undisturbed. Delicate leafed hemlocks, red cedar, and balsam firs grace the rivers edge with lush greenery. A day spent looking at towering first growth trees does something to the inner soul. Enjoy the scene!
