Photographer's Note

The flag stiffens atop the Peace Tower from a cool westerly breeze as the moon rises over the rooftop of the Centre Block of Canada's Parliament Buildings.

Following a devastating fire in 1916, which claimed the Centre Block and the tower, a new Peace Tower was built becoming the focal point of Parliament Hill. At a height of 92m or 302ft, the tower with it's 53 bell carillion is dedicated to the 66,650 Canadians killed in World War I.
