It's the Sun Run so the balloons must be yellow - just in case there's no sun - surprise surprise there was plenty of it - this was taken almost two weeks after yesterday's picture - the city is really awake with tens of thousands of people on the streets in their running gear - no one minds a photographer - there are photographers everywhere - so many things to shoot. Somewhere above the noise and hub bub I sense the spirits of this place calling ...........

Nice "run " you've got going here, each one similar yet different - here you've managed to match the yellow of the "suns" with coppery relfections on the left side indows.
Very pleasant effect,

hey kev its a nice shot. the colours of the baloons against the building are great, but has jinju mentioned i am slightly disturbed about the sky, though from looking at the picture i see the choice was to either take out the sky or leave the post in the bottom, if only both could have been done i think it would have made it a much better image. but its still nice the bright yellow baloons look good, thanks for sharing

hope more will come, not a common theme from you, mr. ryan, those archi shots, but i fully understand your fascination with it, and the ryan's style is obviously used here - the play with the light, the composition, the surreal combination of yellow baloons and the wires;
best wishes, j.
(just returned from gdansk, again, no photos this time :-((

The company I work for sent Bananas and other fruit items for the Sun Run to hand out to the runners. The men's winner of the 2006 Sun Run was Kenya's Gilbert Okari with a time of 28:25.
I guess its hard to shoot upwards without having hydro wires obstrucing your view. The ballons really belong in this frame...nicely done!

another cool image from Vancouver. Gorgeous reflections strong lines especially the pole whch was an inspired move it almost looks like the ballons are attached to the wires. Great splash of colour from the yellow floating balloons. Another cool shot look forward to see what's next.

Cool shot Kev,
the bright balloons against the drab building are not onlya color juxtaposotion but also a juxtaposition in that the balloons are light and fun, and the building is the center of boring things like business and finance..yawn. One thing though, I wish you managed to keep the sky out of the frame. I dont know if that was possible or not though.

There really seems to be nothing in common with the building and balloons and that's what makes this one fun. Good abstract composition. I might wish more balloons, but I don't know what you cropped out of the picture.

With your popularity Kev, on this site, every word you say has a heavy weight in it.
Speaking about Canada the way you are, is making me proud to be a Canadian.
Hey! Some day I'll start to believe in all those UN reports praising Canada, and placing this wonderful country somewhere on the top of the ranking lists (boringly) year after year. Recently, Norway took over the first spot, but... 'not to vorry, hav no fear'. It's not over 'till is over...One day we will kick some butts around again to regain. With your help,Kev...perhaps?
