Photographer’s Note
One of the challenges of exposure is to combine the bright sunlit sand with the dark trees across Chilliwack Lake. The metering is focused on the couple and this photo out of three turned out okay. I also cropped the photo to create the thirds factor.
Photoshop CS2 has the shadow/highlight feature which helps brighten the trees and darken the sand to create a balance in the photo.
Until I came along this beach was totally private for this couple. I hope to return here myself later in the hot summer sun to enjoy this place. Enjoy!

An interesting departure from your usual shots Paul.... this one has people in it! Hahaha....
I like your cropping here, and the colors are excellent. You're right- very well balanced. Good DOF, with the forground being nicely blurred.
Nice one Paul,

Hi Paul, You have well made use of the sand reflections to get a good light to the two character’s faces. A well composed, nicely taken against the sunlight shot. You have well made use of the two persons on the beach to show what an enjoyable place in is along the lake beach. A well taken picture.

Hi Paul. Yes that shadows/highlights feature can be a lifesaver. I still think the contrast is pretty good even after the PP. I think I see diamonds on the water behind the people! Good one Paul.

Paul,
many of the technical aspects were already adressed so I like to add a little note, that the slight tilt to the right makes the water flowing out of the picture. One or 1.5 degrees rotation to the left gives the perfect touch.

Very nicely done, Paul. The sun highlights on the water really polish off the image, as if reflecting the happy mood of the couple. It is a beautiful place.. you are very blessed to have such scenes so close around you.

Paul, c'est superbe ces trois zones parallèles et de tons différents et, pour rompre la monotonie que ça pourrait engendrer, les personnages en balade.
La lumière sur l'eau la fait scintiller. Excellent !

Great shot Paul! I like the way you captured the couple as the walk the beach together. Another thing I like is the 3 distinct layers in the frame, white sand, blue water, and then dark green trees, all in neat horizontal lines. Great work!

This photo looks different from your regular type of photos, the couple walking on the beach brings something new and it really works. Very nicely captured with good colors contrast and reflection. The pine trees produces a good DOF effect.
Well done Paul.

Hi Paul,
You did a great job of controlling the sunlight and glare here, as between the sand and the glint on the water it seems to have been fairly intense. I like the view of the couple sauntering in the sunshine and the three clearly defined layers of interest. Well seen and captured, Paul.
John
