Photographer’s Note
Shopping in Chinatown, Toronto, again. Still cold and the crowds are down, but I am practicing aiming in the direction of people's faces without being afriad that I will be clubbed or sued. In this shot I tried to keep that same feeling of the area, including the people, buildings, typeface and colours. I liked this street sign (though it's missing the Chinese lettering that you find on many of the street signs in this area) because of the obvious bend resulting from an old traffic injury, I imagine.
This area (Spadina and Dundas area Chinatown) is such a great place to shop and dine. I must discover more of Toronto soon... ;) Check out the last time I was on this street here.

Nice composition. The colours are brilliant and the slight blur of the people on the left give the impression of a busy market.
I too worry about upsetting people. I think capturing peoples faces as they go about their buisness makes for interesting photography, but I am nervous about offending some. I have of recent become interested in photographing the less "better off" demographic, but somehow feel I should be paying them to take their picture.

Hi Michelle,
This reminds me a trip in Chinatown, Toronto
on March 8th 2006 (2 days after Digi-mom) walking at the same place. That Wednesday night, March 8th, the Toronto Raptors lost the game by one point on the buzzer. Thanks to Lebron James passing the ball for a three point successful basket, on the buzzer, in front of about 20,000 basket-ball fans very deceived. Forjp001 made the 10 hours trip mainly for attending this basket-ball show and by the way shot many others odd things, some to be posted on TE in a near future.
