Photographer’s Note
This is Toronto Downtown from the Humber Bay park.
I like the way there seems to be such contrast between the moonlight that seems to render tranquility to the heart and mind as opposed to the chaotic and hurried life that is going on in in the city at distance.
You can also see another photo from the same place that I posted on TL. I like the way moonlight seems to be shining on the ice on the rocks at bottom of my photo on TL.
Here are some Quick Facts about Toronto from wikipedia:
Toronto is Canada's largest city by population. The population of the Toronto Census Metropolitan Area (CMA) is estimated at 5,304,100 in 2005 (Statistics Canada). Residents of Toronto are called Torontonians (in French: Torontois). About one-sixth of all Canadian jobs lie within the city limits. Toronto is one of the world's most multicultural cities.
DEDICATIONS
For my next 5-10 posts, I intend to make dedications to other members on TE whose critiques and photos in their gallery have helped me in getting good ideas. These dedications would be in no hierachical order.
Today's photo, I would like to dedicate to the sweetheart of TE "Claire". During my time on TE, I have not always agreed with what she says about my photos, but I do have always valued her critiques on my photos. She has acquainted me with a POV on my photos that I was'nt always aware of. I have always appreciated her critiques. I like the fact that she writes from the heart rather than mumble about the technical gibberish of the photo (Tehcnicalities of photography that she is not much aware of .... ;-))
Claire, Forgive me for this small pun in the end.
I think that Claire does'nt really like to do this kind of easy photography where everything is just visible, and nothing is left to the imagination of the viewers, but since there is a beautiful moon in this photo, i wanted to dedicate this photo to her since she is afterall claire de lune ;-))
Future Plan: I still have take a shot with panning technique that Claire took a considerable time to explain me aboout.

Hi Sarju, A beautiful blue tone picture. You have well captured the blue sky with the beautiful full moon and its reflections. A nice capture of the city outline. The smoothed water in the same color with the sky made this picture very attractive. Well done.
PS: Thanks you for making the public announcement of the special dedication.

Hi Sarju. Wow did this turn out great. I love the smooth water that comes from an 8 second exposure. Impeccable sharpness and no noise to be found. I've seen this skyline numerous times on TE but never quite like this. Awesome shot Sarju!

What a great picture with this deep and beautifull blue! It looks like a city under the see! The reflection of the moon is also wonderfull! Je crois que Clairedelune sera heureuse d'avoir cette photo dédié à elle!
Bravo!

Hi Sarju,
Great shot. You have shown the skyline of Toronto beautifully. I love the way you have worked with the blue tone on the full frame. Looks like the skyline of the city is floating on the water. Also the reflection of the moonlight is nice. TFS.

Hi Sarju!
I will speak for Claire.
As you may be aware of, she is since a few weeks in her hibernation (maybe learning the technicalities you are referring to!). So, as I see all pictures representing myself, I told her about your picture, and the dedication. If you could see her right now! She is speechless. And deeply touched... Ah! The human nature!...
I see that you finally tamed Poseidon (in reference to your picture "I got completely drenched for this"). I know, we are not from the same Pantheon, Poseidon and me, but Claire couldn't knew about Varuna. I also see that Surya is still around, since the last light of the sun are nicely warming up the buildings of that city. A very beautiful picture Sarju!
Here is the only thing Claire was capable of after seing your picture. She listened to the song of Sting, "Sister Moon":
Sister moon will be my guide
In your blue blue shadows I would hide
All good people asleep tonight
I'm all by myself in your silver light
I would gaze at your face the whole night through
I'd go out of my mind, but for you...

Hi Sarju,
A very beautiful blue photo. Yes, I think that this kind of panoramic views of the downtowns, allways give such a special tranquility, in contrast with the urban caos (I remember the famous view over Hong Kong). The special lighting of the moon (it's really big and shining so nicely) is well captured and works very well for the atmosphere you described. I like very much the smoothnes of the image. Congratulations!
I allways apreciated members that makes special references to other members. It goes with the sharing I so much like in this site. Very well done, mate!
Cheers,

Hi Sarju,
Quite an amazing shot. This takes the so-called "blue hour" to a new level! I love the moon's reflection on the water, the richness of the tones, and the proportion of twinkling cityscape in the distance. Congratulations on this one, Sarju. It is a keeper.

Great shot Sarju! I love the blue colour in sky and water. One to add to my favourites.
I always thought that a long exposure time like 8 seconds with a full moon would totally overexpose the image?

Hello Sarju;
Sorry for the delay in getting around to your shots. Been busy with a lot of different things, and neglecting my "TE responsibilites" Hahah...
You captured awesome light with this shot. The prominent blue of the sky and the water, capturing the last light of the day, and the rise of the bright moon.
My only suggestion is more a photoshop one... I would have been tempted to "shift" the moon to about the same height as the tip of the CN tower. To make for a slightly tighter composition.
Cheers Sarju!

Impressive image, Sarju, with very well balanced composition and excellent sharpness for such a long exposure. Did you consider using a graduated neutral density filter to try and reduce the over-exposure of the moon? (That's something I''ve learnt from other TEers!) Cheers . . . David

Hi!
Looks like a futuristic star-wars shot. Everything's blue but a couple of buildings emerging from the blue toward... the blue. The moon, huge, reflecting on the surface of the lake. Very atmospheric shot if I can say so. Makes me want to listen to my favorite record: kind of blue (Miles Davis)
