Photographer’s Note
This photo has so many elements that characterize Chinatown and Toronto, Ontario. Warm clothes, lots of cars, a cable car, bit of an outdoor market showing on the left, bright colourful buildings and signs, and even some rather fancy graffiti on the right. And a photographer there on the corner. This isn't the whole picture of the Spadina area Chinatown (there are other Chinatown areas in Toronto) - just a small slice.
This photo taken down the road from and the same day as my photo of a Toronto street car.
For fun, go exploring, and enter the word "Chinatown" in the TE search engine, to your upper left there.
Critiques and comments always welcome.

Hello Michelle,
Well captured street scene with lots of interesting details. I think the car on the right and the lamp near the top are a little too close to the edges, but in all a very interesting and well seen view.
Thanks and best regards,
Chris

Hi Michelle, a very lively urban capture you offer us here. Chinatown has a lovely and almost provincial charm here. The running pedestrian is vital. Very nice job.
Have a nice sunday,
Bert

Nice shot of Toronto's Chinatown, Michelle. You've captured some of the excitement and activities of this location. You've framed the scene well though it might have been better to have pulled back just a bit to include all of the lamp on the post to the left. The colours are very good for a less than ideal day. I like it....Earl

The only thing it's missing is the huge number of people. At least everytime I've seen it there seems to have been a never ending line of groups of people on sidewalks, at street corners and crossing streets. And when trying to make a turn I sometimes think I'm never get an opening to make it.
I really like how you captured the feel of the street, though. And it still has a very busy nature, with all that traffic. Of course all the other details are there as you say, the tram, graffiti, traffic, market, all the signs. You capture those things I like about Toronto that we lack in Detroit, the density, the noise, the assault on the senses. It would be nice to see photos from a walk through Chinatown on a busy day. I've wanted to do that when I've been there but I've always had business elsewhere and never seem to get my walk in.

Good everyday scene from China Town. Nice to see the hustle and bustle of everyday life there. I love that place. Must visit again soon after seeing your shot here. Good composition and colours. The sharpness is great. Well done Michelle.

Hi Michelle
I was just curious about where you took this photo as I am not that familiar with the downtown TO
good chaos you seem to have captured in this one ... I would have liked to see that chaos of street car wires that are usually found on the interesection ... but still this photo looks pretty good to me
tfs ... regards ... sarju

Hi Michelle,
Just before posting my colorful Toronto Chinatown , I came across your similar picture taken when every one is busy in a traffic jam with the red street car in the middle of this mess.
That was the kind of picture I was looking for when I was shooting mine but people were at work or still sleeping. However, I created a new theme Toronto street scene / Scènes de rue de Toronto and inserted your beautiful Toronto street scenes in this theme.
Au revoir,
Jean-Pierre

Good composition, Michelle. You captured a very colourful scene here. I like the way you included the cable car and caught the man running across the street.

Thanks for the colourful image that reminds me I should try and take a picture of China town in London for you. I will add your bright photo to the China town theme for you!
