Photographer’s Note

In the surroundings of the Lake St Jean in Quebec a zoo is which leaves a more important place with the animals than to the visitors... it is that of St Félicien.

You will be able to leave to discovered through the boreal forest and approach more than 80 species (nearly 1 000 animals) moving in semi-freedom. Furrow the pedestrian part and go up on board latticed train.

Here, a polar bear taken through a thick pane, one thinks that it is beside us, and in fact it was at least 3 meters behind tasting its fish.

Technically the photograph is not perfect and the scan the negative ones gives many grains, more than with a slide.

Je suis à moitié convaincue par ton cadrage (mais je n'arrive pas vraiment à savoir pourquoi: patte coupée en bas, regard trop centré?) mais par contre j'aime beaucoup l'atmosphère qui se dégage de cette photo. Avec cette dominante monochrome verte et les bulles (et le sujet: ça n'est pas tous les jours qu'on voit un ours blanc comme çà...), on se croirait presque dans un rêve...

Dommage que l'ours soit un peu flou, sans doute à cause d'une vitesse d'obturation un peu trop lente à cause de la lumière faible.

Très étonnante cette photo....et hors du commun.
Un cadrage intéressant et des bulles qui apportent beaucoup.
Domage pour la qualité de l'image, net ca aurait été impressionnnant.

hey philippe ... despite the incredible difficulty of shooting through such think glass, i think you've done a good job. although, i can't help but thinking the polar bear needs a coke in his paw! lol

i like the bubbles, for some reason, they give the shot a more interesting sense of appeal.
