Photographer’s Note
Yes, another photo of the CN Tower. Also, another photo taken from the passenger seat on a busy highway (this is the Gardner Expressway). Also, another very centered photo, with the tower and the exit sign right in the middle. But I like the photo - the steel of city gray in the winter time, some mass transit (the GO train off to the right) and a taxi, and a little movement. This just makes me think of everytime we've driven into Toronto, even though this is coming from the east, and we usually drive in from the west side of the city. And if you get off at this exit (Yonge Street and Bay Street), you're right in the heart of the action. "Yours to Explore"
Now, for fun, imagine soaring up to the top of the tower before you, and look back down to see where you are going... view from the tower, by sarju :)
(did a bit of brightening and cropping, forgot to sharpen for posting)
comments and workshops always welcome

Hi Michelle, haven't been to Toronto in over a decade but sure do remember what lies ahead after making that exit down to Yonge Street. Like the framing you chose, really emphasises the front windshield you no doubt took this photograph through. The movement caused by the bluriness of some parts is a nice choice. I've done a quick workshop to sharpen the image a bit more and removed the antennae of the car that appears on the righthand side.

The first I thought was: how she succeeded in in caturing from the car?! Sometimes I do it, but I get pics good only for myself and for my own memory, not good to show at all!
Then I notice so many interesting details that create a rich picture!
Perhaps you could cut something, as in the WS... but it is nice!
Have a great Sunday, Michelle! Livia

hi Michelle
Sorry about not coming back to this picture yesterday ... but I been kind of juggling with my time a lot lately.
Anyways just to quickly tell you few things that I liked about your photo
1. Motion Blur on the lamp post
2. Inclusion of GoTrain (I always travel by Go train whenever I visit TO, it is keeping me sane)
3. Exit board for the Yonge Street
4 TO Sky line
and wow .. I love the way this photo compliments my photo from the CN tower
thanks for sharing this one ... cheers .... sarju
PS: I do wish that there was a bit more brightness in this one

Bonsoir Michelle,
Pour une photo prise en roulant elle est très nette, on a l'impression d'être assis dans la voiture.

Hi Michelle,
Classic urban driving pic with the leading lines going straight into the city. Due also to the motion blur is has also a sense of anticipation. The verticalism of the skyline is fine too. A very strong one!
Have a nice week,
Bert

This is such an awesome picture of Toronto downtown area. It's quite good for a picture taken in a car. I don't mind the CN tower being in the middle. It's like one of those pictures that we want to have, but can't take them because there is a highway there lol...if you know what i mean. Anyways, I really like it. Best wishes!

I love entering Toronto this way. It's so impressive to be on the elevated highway and have the apartments and other high rises tower on either side and then the tower above them all. It's very futuristic feeling, like flying into the city. I've never come in from the east before, since I live to the west of Toronto. But it looks just as impressive from this side as the other. Maybe more so because you get the taller buildings first from this direction. I also like the feel of speed with the perspective of the roadway and the lane lines and everyone so ordered on them. Very nicely captured Michelle, especially at expressway speeds.
