Photographer’s Note

Back to Oakville Harbour for today's post.
What you see here are some rocks being hit by a wave. These are the same rocks as shown in my previous photo. But for this photo, I was standing behind the rocks, in order to get the light house and the lake in the frame. I guess it is needless to say that I got pretty drenched split second after taking this photo, but I was also very content with the results of the shoot.

The thing that struck me the most that morning was the size of the waves pounding the harbour. Never had I seen the waves so big striking the shores of the Lake Ontario. The waves might have looked like way too petite if you compared them to the waves in the ocean, but I must remind that this is Lake Ontario.

Thin line of land mass beyond the lake is the Niagara Escarpment.

This is my first post of the year 2006, so I also wanted to wish everybody a very Happy New Year.

PS: I have started providing the Map Info with most of my photos now, but the resolution of the image available for this place is very low, so i am going to skip the Map Location for this one.
