[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A little house deep in the cedar grove woods of BC.It was a welcoming site to come home to after dancing in the new year.;-) My new years resolution is to try to Understand & use Trekearths tools a bit more.
First time I've tried a re-post, made some changes to size and sharpening. Technically it's not a great photo,IMO, but full of warm colours, which was what had me run in to the house & grab my camera. The blue snow is real folks and happens here at dawn & twilight when the sky is as thick in snow as the ground. There's little direct light deep in the woods but so much green foliage underneath and overhead. I think this may explain the blue effect.

Nice colors. I think that the image is too sharp though.

I love the contrast between the cold of the blue and the warm projected light. I think that giving it a bit more glow would make it even better.

There is nothing like western red cedar to cast the feeling of winter warmth and your photo illustrates this very well Jean.

It reminds me very much of our own log house which I built with red cedar after having it shipped from Fraser,BC to Quebec by rail many years ago.

Looks like it was a lovely spot to welcome the new year:-)

Ya it really is too bad the focus is off. Great colours and a really comfortable looking place.

...oh, and from an unseasonable warm Toronto to you BC'ers under heavy snow: Ha Ha!!! ;-)

A warm, welcoming scene. I just wish it were sharper. Nice job.

Nice contrasts of warm and cold colours. It makes us want to go in for the warmth but looking outside for the beauty of the snow.
It's a bit blurry indeed but maybe it gives that extra soft inviting feeling...

I find the colour contrast very attractive here, warm vs. cold, indoors vs. outdoors. I also must say that Thien's workshop is an interesting result of his alterations. Nice capture Jean! I hope that by now spring is also reaching Canada ;-)

It is really, a warm and welcoming sight. I'd the same experience once but in a different setting. I was walking in the cold shivering whiteout and the wind was howling hypothermic and seeing a shelter, with flickering of flames under its eaves, promises life. And reality check, most time you can't see "sharply" on days like this.
