The arrangement of the benches is quite lovely- scattered throughout the trees. The canopy of yellow makes the lighting excellent. Really nice work.

Claire nice photo here. In fact a gorgous fall scene with character too. I have to say that the eastern side of Canada has some amazing colors. Nice poem from L Cohen. The old classic rock tunes from his music is great to listen to. I am posting photos of a mountain hike this summer. Cheers. and nice work!

Que des tons chauds. Quel beau paradoxe pour une image qui évoque si joliment la froidure à venir. Y'a d'la poésie dans votre vision!

La composition est équilibrée, les courbes des bancs qui évoquent les ouïes d'instruments à cordes sont du plus bel effet, un écho au second degré des sanglots lents du vent d'automne...

the (crooked) lines of the benches, repeated in the back, the paths, the trees, very well composed. And a very well understanding of exposure to bring out the colour contrast, very rich tones. A pleasing, melancholic scene. I like this so photo so much! Thanks for sharing!

I had seen this photo yesterday and had procrastinated to write the critique as I did'nt had any suggestions for it or anything sensible to say about it either ... lols.Well i am back in your gallery and I am still speechless with the beauty of this picture ...

you got an excellent DOF in this one ... and there is this such a nice atmosphere of warmth and glow over the benches in this scene ... the contrasting leaves and the dark bark looks sooo good.

PS: I don't know why but I must say that fall does make me happy ... all those fallen leaves ... the end of life (cycle to be precise) ... Yeah .. I am a bit weird kind of person I think .. I can't wait for the winters to come and I like them harsh ... thats why I prefer Quebec. ... does this make any sense to you ? ... it does not to me either .. lols

All those empty benches, nicely brought together in this shot, funny, but most attrctive are all the yellow contrasting leaves of autumn, nicely enlightened in thr trees, an excellent warm mood in this shot Claire.

Bonjour Claire,
On voit beaucoup d'image d'automne ces jours sur TE, mais je trouve que celle-ci est différente des autres. Je crois que c'est parce qu'elle est uniquement dans de tons de bruns et d'ors (contrairement au autres qui ont souvent un ciel bleu profond). Il se dégage de cette image un sentiment de nostalgie avec toutes ces feuilles au sol qui entourent les bancs. Ca me donne envie d'aller m'y asseoir un petit moment.

Je me posais la question si un élément humain aurait apporté un plus à l'image et puis, je me dis que non car elle m'évoque bien comme celà la solitude et aussi une certaine nostalgie du temps qui passe avec ces couleurs chaudes qui se transformeront chez vous dans quelques temps en blanc
ce serait interressant que tu refasses la même image avec le même cadrage quand la neige sera là
j'aimerai bien ;o)

POur le moment on voit que l'hiver n'est pas encore arrive et que tout nous invite a passer un moment sur ces bancs, en fait l'ambiance que restitue cette photo est doublement chaude de par les feuilles a terre et sur les arbres et de la luminosite qui vient eclaircir la partie superieure. Belle contribution au theme.

Le parc LaFontaine est si beau et avec ta caméra, il l'est encore plus. C'est couleurs automnales sont superbes et surprenante pour un 6 novembre. Les saisons sont vraiment déphasé avec le réchauffement de la planète.
J'aime bien ta composition avec les accumulations de feuilles, les bancs et les sentiers. Très bien réussi.

It's like these benches all have relationships with each other and then I think of all the different types of relationships that have graced them through the passing of time and that's really what your photograph symbolises for me - the passing of time - a place to sit and meditate on the meaning of autumn and where it fits in our lives - perhaps the melancholia of the northern heart and mind comes from yetthe slowing down,but is somehow softened by, the beauty of autumn - there is so much to understand about ourselves and where we are going from in the time of the falling leaves.

Une image de mon enfance..... Mon quartier. J'habitais tout près rue Saint-Hubert entre Rachel et Marie-Anne. Jusqu'à l'âge de mes cinq ans , nous y avons habité. Ma mère nous amenais tous les jours au parc pour une ballade en plein air. C'était notre Jardin des Merveilles !

Très belle image et composition. Couleurs très chaudes. Bravo!

Bonjour Claire,

j'aime beaucoup cette image aux chaudes couleurs contrastées. Malgré le thème de l'attente et de la "solitude" inspirée par les bancs vides, aucun sentiment nostalgique n'en ressort, au contraire. On aimerait s'y installer et s'adonner à la contemplation... en écoutant Cohen!

Hello Claire. Your side on TrekEarth shows nearly only good and very good photos. I am strained, which future I will see on your side. The photo with the title Waiting shows a fascinating scene in the autumn. The sheets fall from the trees and the banks are empty. No people are to be seen. Nearly the park seems to sleep. How joyfully sad is your beautiful picture, Claire.

It's the time when you're choosing the deepest piles of golden leaves and kick them high. As high as you possibly can. And watch those leaves swirling softly down to the ground.

This picture is the essence of autumn (which is my favourite season!), I'm always waiting whole summer to see this golden foliage and hear the leaves rustle when walking in a park.

Bonjour Claire! Cette photo datant de tes tout debut in TE est absolument magnifique!!! Ces couleurs de l’automne me sont tres familieres comme tu peux l’imaginer… Elles indiquent que bientot l’hiver va arriver. Heureusement aujourd’hui ce n’est pas le cas avec cette chaleur d’été! Ce que j’aime surtout de cette photo c’est l’absence de gens, juste la nature a un point precis de son cycle. Mais la presence de gens est tout pret. On peut penser que des personnes ce sont assis sur ces bancs ou s’assiront… La lumiere est belle sur cette image et illumine bien le feuillage des arbres qui eux ressemblent plus a des silhouettes. Excellente composition!!!

nous sommes en plein été et je découvre ton automne et ça me donne (presque) envie d'aller marcher dans les feuilles mortes du parc LaFontaine ( que je ne connais pas mais que j'aurais pu "voir" dans un roman de L.Cohen)

Hi Claire.
What a nice shot..it's a perfec capture of waiting for the winter,with the lonely and melancholic park covered of yelow leaves.I like the contrast of the leaves with the dark trees too.Really a great autumn photo,congratulations for this one and for your gallery in general.
