Photographer’s Note
Good day to all !
A Jumbo Delivery this morning. And a special Hello to my Dutch friends and colleagues ( and fair partners..... of this great community, I may add! )
This baby came on Friday and discharged yesterday a special delivery in Becancour. Coming all the way from Japan with two pieces like this one. Each of them weighting about 450 mt. That ship is a little marvel. She is equipped with two giant cranes with a Safe working Load capacity of 800 mt each. Combined together , they could lift 1600 mt in one movement !
Or if you prefer a block of 80 x 20’ loaded containers !
These pieces were discharged on railcars directly. On the terminal, the Mammoet personnel are responsible for the land transportation portionn to destination. They will continue their journey to the Ultramar Refinery located on the South Shore of Quebec City.

The ship is operated by the Dutch Based Company Jumboship. The crew is from Holland and from Cabo Verde Islands. The ship was registered in Willemstad , but they changed it to Dutch flag on Friday !
I invite you to visit my estimated colleagues. Thank you guys!
John Tulip on TL
He is one third Dutch, One third Canadian and one third Spanish…. Who is only on TLens, but never mind. He is doing so much cheering up everybody, including me. His help is really appreciated. Thanks for him to learn me how to add these links.

On this photo I increased the red saturation, to allow you to see better the crew uniforms and appreciate more the size of the cargo and cranes !
PS ! I have to admit I do appreciate Dutch beer! Heineken & Oranjeboom namely. My favorite Dutch product however has my own name !
Calvé Peanut butter is fabulous ! Too bad ist is not available in Canada !
Cheers!

Hi Robert, I like this postcard style of shot. You have well captured the entirety of the giant boat, the big load, the action of the loading/unloading. The people on the side made a very nice reference to the size. Nice composition with perspective view from the front to the end. I also like the no-nonsense tight crop. Well done.

Hello Robert, this indeed is a Jumbo!! And thanks for the hello to us. I like your shot a day later as well, in which you can even see better how huge the pipe is. Did you know that Mammoet was the company that lifted the Kursk?

Bonjour Robert,
It's maybe not the kind of picture I'll hang in my room... - But it's impressive photographic work indeed!
The colours are bright and crisp, the image is smooth and sharp, and I rather like the tight framing here.
* I did not realise you were THE Calvé man of the "pindakaas"! - Maybe we can send you some? :o)))
