Photographer’s Note
From July 18 to 29 2005, we stayed at the base camp of Canadian Arctic Watch located on the northern end of Somerset Island near Cunningham Inlet some 85 kms south of Resolute Bay.
This shot was taken at 0130 AM daylight saving time when the sun is at its lowest position on the horizon, or approx. 4.7 degrees above the horizon for the date.
The camp which lodges up to 30 guests and a staff of 8 is formed of a group of tents containing a great room, a kitchen and dining room,a shower room and storage area. What you see here are our sleeping quarters, tents (12' X 12') which can lodge up to four people each.

Superb. A place where very few people will go. Just right here for our viewing pleasure... so thanks.
It reminds me of Mongolian landscape - with post modern yurts !
The sky is terrific.

Not often seen photos of the wild white great North in Nunavut Territory. Since we cannot afford such travel, we are very pleased to see such gathering of tents.
Should I be in that camp, I would be afraid of fire conflagration and deep cold. (Jean-Pierre)
P.S. J'ai placé cette photo avec mes favorites en compagnie de ton récent inukshuk
