Photographer’s Note
Taken in a woods in Algonquin Park. Found the light was interesting on a piece of died wood. I picked up a leave from nearby, put on it, shot away.
did quite some post processing. Another one for the fall series. :)

lovely composition, well done with the background, it looks almost monochrome against the vibrant red leaf. well done

Your excellent and slightly different autumn photos made me wax poetic. Thanks for posting - from still green Florida...
"I am one red leaf fallen early onto a weathered gray log, positioned just so by a wandering man with a camera, waiting with all presence until I hear the click, and the man walks away looking for more colourful leaves still hanging from their tired branches, signifying autumn in all its cool and breathless glory; when a small breeze catches me lightly I sigh, fallen finally to the forest floor amid the still and silent wonder that is fall, waiting to be barren winter, waiting to be spring green."

Wow... incredible detail & colour. The DOF really focuses your attention to just the leaf. Great shot!
