Photographer’s Note
Saint-Simeon, Charlevoix county
After a good night of sleep , Day two of our four days trip is starting. I wanted to wake up early to see the sun rising. As we were on the North shore of the Saint-Lawrence river, we had a great spot for capturing good images. Image taken from the balcony of our room looking South toward Saint-Pascal of Kamouraska.
I require your indulgence, as I am now doing my first attempt in posting a framed shot.
Well, It took some time but I posted two WS with titles and Signatures ( to look more ''professionnal'') Your comments will be appreciated.
Cheers!

Well, for a first frame it is not bad at all. The picture ressembles more a painting than a photo, so a good frame is absolutely needed. Usually text is added by creating a text layer.

It is a success Robert! Both the picture and frame are pretty.

Hi Robert;
Ah yes, I remember my first framing attempt...
Hahaha...
You did a great job, very similar to the type of frame I often use. The only thing your frame is missing is a slight tough of sharpness for optimum effect. The reason it's not as sharp as it could be is because you added the frame before you re-sized (correct my if I'm wrong).
One suggestion- try resizing your image to 720-750 before applying your frame.
The photo: Very nice, I like the range of colors from the blues to the orange-yellows.
Nicely done!

Robert, a very tranquil shot. I feel at peace with the gentle waters and the warm colours of the sky. As for the frame, I think this one works well to separate the image from the beige background of TE. The light colour of the sky is too much like the background colour so a dark frame is needed to give contrast. I use frames less than I used to (except for a thin black border) because often they don't add to the photo unless it's needed to give a contrast to the colours in the image. As for text - in my view it makes the photo look like a postcard and in most cases is destracting. Most of the signatures I see on TE just look pretentious and they are particularly awful when they overlay the picture itself.
