Photographer’s Note
I shot this one night after walking down Bank St. I came up to a bridge over looking the canal and was surprised at what I saw. It's one of my favourite pics. The rideau canal is quite the sight especially in winter when it becomes the worlds largest outdoor skating rink. Good thing I just happend to have a tripod in my back pocket!

Bonjour Chris,
Bienvenu sur TE.
Très belle prise de nuit. La pose longue nous donne de biens beaux traits lumineux. Belle composition.
Best regards.

Hola Chris
The depth in this photo is stunning, I also liked the overcast sky .... I have tried taking a photo from this place few times but I was never really this successful in my efforts ... neways thanks for showing me how can it be done so gracefully .
I feel that the sreaks of lights could have been more impressive with a better manipulation of the traffic
anywyas it is a good shot and WElcome to TE btw
cheers .... sarju

Welcome to TE Chris. nice sharp night shot (must have used a tripod. Good framing of the road leading through the shot. One of the things I've learnt on TE is that night shots usually look beat if there's just a touch of residual ligth in the sky. Might be worth thinking about next time.

Hi Chris. Great shot! The last time I ws in Ottawa was 1975, on a school trip. It was beautiful then, and I expect it still is. I hope to bring my family there again one day soon. Your shot is wonderfully composed, with great colour and clarity! Very well taken!

Lovely night shot Chris. I love the composition, with the car lights and roadway leading the eye to the distance. Nice colours too, especially the green trees and ther brownish sky. Those pocket tripods are useful, aren't they!
